Sometimes, you just want to settle in with a good detective show.

There's onething especially binge-able about a mystery, and there's comfort in the familiar framework of a cop show. There's always a crime at the top of the hour, then a few red herrings and misleading suspects later, you have it all tied up with a neat bow.

Whichever flavor of crime show you're in the mood for, we've got an option for you. Click or scroll through the gallery above to see our picks for the best detective shows available right now on streaming.

Although there are too many British crime procedurals to list off here, if we had to pick one essential new addiction it's the Netflix show "Criminal." Released in Sept. 2019, "Criminal" takes place almost entirely inside the interrogation room. Each three-episode season features three different crimes — and three suspects (played in the U.K. version by David Tennant, Hayley Atwell and Youssef Kerkour) that the police are trying to break.

It's taunting and brilliant, and the best part is that once you've binged all three episodes, you'll discover that Netflix dropped three more seasons set in France, Germany and Spain.
